On 12-18-19 at approximately 4:18 PM Janesville Police received a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver eastbound on W. Court St. About the same time another call of a hit and run came in at W. Court St at S. Arch St. involving a silver Chevy Traverse that did not stop after side-swiping another vehicle. The victim was able to obtain the license plate of the suspect vehicle which registered to an address in the 400 blk of Harding St. Janesville officers located the suspect vehicle in the driveway of 425 Harding St. unoccupied. Contact was made at the residence with a male suspect who just arrived home in the vehicle. The male subject showed signs of impairment and refused standard field sobriety tests. Probable cause was developed to arrest Jeremy Prinkey for 6th offense OWI after a Department of Transportation records check showed he has 5 priors. A search warrant was signed by a judge for a legal blood draw with results pending. While taking Prinkey into custody he resisted arrest, spit at officers, and made threats to an officer. An officer suffered minor injuries during the arrest. Prinkey was held at the Rock Co. Jail pending his initial appearance in court.
