After a short pursuit, deputies arrested a 21-year-old Ontario man for DUI, Probation Violation & Evading

INCIDENT: Driving Under the Influence, Evading a Peace Officer with Disregard for Safety, Violation of Probation
LOCATION: Diamond Road and Hook Boulevard, Victorville
SUSPECT: Kristain Mikal Rogers, 21-year old Ontario resident
SUMMARY:
On December 17, 2019, Deputy M. Cote and Deputy J. Aria, with the Victorville Police Department, attempted to conduct a traffic stop at Diamond Road and Hook Boulevard for a possible driving under the influence violation.
The driver of the 2011 Nissan Altima, later identified as Kristain Mikal Rogers, failed to yield to the deputies and a short pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, Rogers turned off the vehicle’s headlights while exceeding the posted speed limit and ignoring stop signs. The pursuit came to an end on Mojave Drive, near Mesa Linda Avenue, when Rogers stopped the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident. Two passengers in the Nissan were uninjured.
Rogers, who was found to be on felony probation, was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for driving under the influence, evading a Peace Officer with disregard for safety, and violation of felony probation. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on December 19, 2019.
