INDIANAPOLIS – On Wednesday morning, December 18, 2019 officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) will participate in the annual Clothe-A-Child Program that will provide 41 area children with holiday cheer.  As a part of IMPD’s continual commitment to enhance and support our community, IMPD officers and civilians will participate in the annual Clothe-A-Child program to give back to our community in a meaningful and impactful way.

Schedule of Events: The day will begin at 8:00 a.m., at JTV Hill Center with a light breakfast.  At 8:30 a.m., the police escorted caravan of officers and children will be on their way to J.C. Penney’s at Castleton Mall.  From the Castleton Mall, the children and officers will move to Shoe Carnival at 11:00 a.m., and finally at 12:00 p.m., back to JTV Hill Center to prepare for the arrival of Santa and the gifts he will bring and lunch.

The Clothe-A-Child program is funded and administered by financial donations and the human spirit to give back.  The enormous support of  J.C. Penney Department Stores, Wal-Mart, and Shoe Carnival provide IMPD with the resources to include as many as 41 children along with police officers for a day of fun and giving.  Many of the officers are joined by family members to witness this heartwarming experience between cops and kids.  This year’s program will include approximately 40 police officers, 40 civilians and 41 kids for a shopping day experience.

Members of the media are encouraged to attend to highlight the human spirit of IMPD and the positive effect it has on our community.  Motorist in the area should expect some slight delays beginning at 8:30 a.m. as the police escorted caravan gets underway.
