Traffic stop leads to arrest of Owensville man on DUI charge.

On December 13, 2019, at 8:47 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a possible impaired driver near the intersection of Main and Oak Street in Fort Branch. Upon arriving in the area Deputy Zach Lienemann conducted a traffic stop on a Grey 2002 Dodge Ram after observing the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Lienemann identified the driver as 44-year-old Harold Blackard of the rural Owensville area. While speaking with Mr. Blackard Deputy Lienemann detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver and began a roadside DUI investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Lienemann placed Mr. Blackard into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Blackard was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $650 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
