LOCATION: CA Hwy 173 / CA Hwy 189, Lake Arrowhead

SUSPECT: Harlan Pelleg, male adult, resident of Fontana

VICTIM: Confidential female, 35 years old, resident of Fontana

SUMMARY:
On December 10, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Deputy Buchowiecki investigated a domestic violence incident that took place along the roadway of Highways 173 and 189 in Lake Arrowhead. The victim, a 35-year-old female, was assaulted by her boyfriend, identified as Harlan Pelleg. During the incident, Pelleg made addition criminal threats toward the victim before fleeing in their shared vehicle. The victim received injuries to her face, neck and arms which required her to be transported by ambulance to Mountains Community Hospital for treatment. A felony warrant for Pelleg’s arrest was subsequently issued by the San Bernardino County Superior Court.

On December 11, 2019, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Deputy Gallacher conducted a traffic stop on Pelleg’s vehicle in the community of Twin Peaks. Pelleg failed to yield to deputies for approximately 15 miles. Deputies deployed spike strips near Lake Silverwood which ended the vehicle pursuit. Pelleg then fled on foot into the forested area. Personnel from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Division assisted during the investigation and successfully located Pelleg. He was taken into custody pending felony charges of PC 273.5 – Domestic Violence; PC 422 – Criminal Threats; and VC 2800.2 – Reckless Evading.
