PREVENTING PACKAGE THEFT

Holidays pack enough stress. With these tips, you can help keep dealing with package theft off of your to-do list.

-Have packages delivered to your work. Delivering packages to a job increases visibility and reduces the chances that your packages might be swiped unexpectedly.
-Schedule deliveries for times you will be home. This keeps packages from sitting unattended for long periods of time.
-Buddy up with a neighbor.
-Require a signature. This extra insurance ensures that you won’t have packages piling up at your door.
-Arrange to have your packages held at the shipping service so you can pick them up.
-Have your packages tracked using the online tracking number so you can tell when they are about to be delivered.
-Ask delivery company if the package can be delivered inside your home or garage.
-Ask to have your packages delivered to a retail store so you can pick them up at your convenience.

If you see a package being stolen in your neighborhood, call 911 and report a crime in progress.
Then confirm your address and provide an accurate description of the suspect(s) and any vehicles that may be used.
