Wilmington Police make drug arrest after traffic stop:
Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a man with drug offenses following a traffic stop.
On December 4 at approximately 11:12 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 300 block of North Lombard Street for an equipment violation. As officers approached the vehicle, 47-year-old Shawn Garrett attempted to flee but was taken into custody without incident.
Garrett was found to be in possession of 77.3 grams of powder cocaine, 1.3 grams of crack cocaine, 4 oxycodone pills and $2,253 in currency. He has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Resisting Arrest
