Suspect Arrested for Robbery at Rohnert Park Credit Union

ROHNERT PARK, CA – On 12/07/19, at approximately 10:07am, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received a report of a robbery at the Patelco Credit Union on Golf Course Dr. in Rohnert Park.  Responding officers and Detectives were able to determine that a male entered the bank and approached one of the tellers.  He then produced a note demanding cash, but did not mention having a weapon.  The male was given an undisclosed amount of cash by the teller and he fled the bank walking across the parking lot towards Golf Course Dr.
 
After sending out information about the robbery and images of the suspect and requesting assistance from the public in identifying him we received numerous tips identifying the suspect as 31 year old Akili Holmes, who is currently transient in Sonoma County.  Another member of the public called at approximately 10:00 pm on 12/07/19 and said they currently saw Holmes in a parking lot on Marlow Rd. in Santa Rosa.  The Santa Rosa Police Department was notified and they located Holmes there and detained him.  Rohnert Park Public Safety Detectives met with the Santa Rosa officers and arrested Holmes for Robbery and Burglary, and he is being booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
 
Rohnert Park Public Safety would like to thank all the people who provided information to us which led to the identification and arrest of Holmes.  Having a partnership with members of the public helps us to make our community safer.
