Tory Jacob Benefield has been ordered placed #1 on the top ten most wanted by Sheriff Victor Hill for a Murder that was committed in the city of Lovejoy.  On the evening of November 29th, 2019, Officers with the City of Lovejoy Police Department responded to reports of shots fired.  Upon arrival at a local gas station, a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest was located in the parking lot.  The male gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.

It was determined through investigation that the victim and two other individuals had planned to meet with a subject to conduct a drugs for money transaction.  During the course of the exchange, three males, one who who has now been identified as Tory Jacob Benefield, approached the vehicle in which the victim and the two other individuals were seated.  A firearm was produced and demands were made that the occupants of the vehicle hand over their personal belongings.  The male victim became involved in a struggle and was shot in the chest.  As one of the other occupants of the vehicle sped away, additional shots were fired striking the vehicle.  

After the preliminary investigation, the City of Lovejoy Police Department took out warrants for Benefield’s arrest for Murder with Malice, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery.  

Benefield (pictured below) should be considered armed and dangerous and if spotted, 911 should be dialed immediately. Benefield is described as a black male with brown eyes, black hair, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 146 pounds with no distinguishing marks or tattoos.  If anyone has any information concerning the whereabouts of Benifeild, call 770-477-4479 to reach the Fugitive Squad.   Anonymous tips can be fed to the Sheriff’s Office Nixle tip line.

It is believed that family or friends are possibly assisting Benifeild and not encouraging him to surrender.  Let it be clear that the Sheriff has authorized and directed his elite Fugitive Squad not to stop at go, or collect $200, but guarantee that that they will go straight to Georgia’s toughest para-military jail where they will learn how to face the wall with Benifeild.
