City of East Chicago, Indiana Water Department - Cancellation Notice of Boil Water Advisory Effective December 6, 2019 A boil water advisory notice was issued on December 3 and 4, 2019 to residents and businesses affected by the emergency repair work to a 12” water main line in the vicinity of the 5200 Block of Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN 46312. Please be advised that since then the 12” water main line has been repaired, as well as bacteriological samples have been collected within the affected areas and tested. The test results were satisfactory meeting IDEM requirements, and it is no longer necessary to boil the water within the affected areas. Thank you once again for your patience as the City’s goal and commitment is to protect the public and ensure safe, reliable and efficient water supply to our residents and businesses.
