Frankfort Police continues to remind residents to be vigilant and cautious at all times, especially during the holiday season.  The area continues to experience burglary to motor vehicles, vehicle thefts and reports of robberies throughout the Chicagoland area and northwest Indiana.  Last night the Lincolnway area had several reports of car burglaries, as well as, a robbery at the Speedway located at Center and Laraway at approximately 5:20 am.  In the Speedway incident two suspects drove a newer dark gray colored Dodge Challenger with bright orange daytime running lights. Suspects were described as 2 M/B wearing all black clothing and ski-type masks blocking their faces.  As officers arrived, the suspects fled the business in the Challenger.  Officers gave chase, but ended the pursuit as the offenders began to drive at a very high rate of speed and made several evasive maneuvers without regard for the safety and officers lost sight of vehicle.  It was last seen entering northbound I-57. Similar to other incidents the subjects were armed and quickly entered and exited the business, making off with currency and merchandise. Police Departments are discovering that in many of these cases the offenders cover the license plates with plastic or are utilizing stolen motor vehicles.  If you see anything suspicious we continue to ask that call police immediately.  Please lock doors and never leave keys or fobs in vehicles.
