Urgent Alert regarding FALSE REPORT!!! We have received several inquiries and social media posts from concerned citizens regarding the report of a Kidnapping in Ridgeland, SC at the Family Dollar Store. This reporting is FALSE. Shortly after 6pm tonight, Ridgeland Police Officers responded to the Family Dollar on Jacob Smart Blvd regarding a suspicious person. Witnesses stated an unknown man was asking for money from patrons. The man approached a young girl and asked for money while having his arms extended. No contact was made by the man and the young girl is with her family who were at the store with her. Thank you for your continued support and always say something if you see something.
