Homicide Detectives arrested Benjamin Pate for the murder of a Barstow woman

INCIDENT: Murder Investigation
LOCATION: 28000 block of Waterman Road, Barstow
VICTIM: Andrea Foote, 49 years old, resident of Barstow
SUSPECT: Benjamin Pate, 35 years old, resident of Barstow
SUMMARY:
On Monday, December 2, 2019 at 6:45 p.m. deputies responded to a call of an unknown problem on Waterman Road. The caller said an unknown man was at his door claiming he killed his girlfriend. Deputies arrived and detained Benjamin Pate without incident. Deputies responded to a nearby residence and found a deceased woman, identified as Andrea Foote, in the bedroom.
Homicide Detectives responded to conduct the investigation.
Detectives interviewed Pate and following the interview he was arrested and booked for Murder. He is being held at West Valley Detention Center without bail.
