Thanksgiving Murder Suspect #1 On The Top Ten Most Wanted Surrenders To SHERIFF VICTOR HILL’S Elite Fugitive Squad
Last night Jalen Leverette surrendered himself to the Elite Fugitive Squad at a location in Cobb County. Leverette was wanted out of Clayton County for Murder with Malice, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Kidnapping. These charges stem from an incident which took place on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, 2019, at a location in Forest Park which prompted Sheriff Victor Hill to place Leverette #1 on his top ten most wanted.
On Thanksgiving Day, 2019, four individuals were outside a Forest Park residence, playing basketball, when Jalen Leverette pulled up to the residence in a black four-door. Leverette exited the vehicle, brandishing two pistols, and instigated an argument with one of the individuals outside the residence. Leverette and the victim got into the vehicle and drove a few houses down the street, all while Leverette had a gun pointed at the victim. Two of the other individuals outside the residence approached the vehicle that had since stopped moving down the street, in an apparent attempt to diffuse the situation. Leverette then opened the door of the vehicle and began shooting at one of the individuals, striking him in the neck and chest. The victim later died as a result of his injuries. Leverette then fled the scene in the vehicle, the first male victim still inside. The victim was able to jump out of the car, further down the road, and Leverette attempted to shoot him as he fled on foot.
Leverette is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail better known to all as “The Hill-ton”.
