NARRATIVE:
Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau are assisting El Monte Police Department personnel regarding an Officer Involved Shooting. At approximately 12:30 pm, EL Monte Police Department Officers responded to the 9800 Block of Cortada Street in El Monte regarding a 911 hang up-call for service.
Upon arrival, the officers were encountered by a suspect armed with a bladed weapon, at which point an officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect was struck in the upper torso, and pronounced deceased at the scene. No officers were injured, and the investigation is ongoing. There is no further information available.
