SUMMARY:
On Saturday, November 30, 2019, at approximately 7:20 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 58100 block of Pimlico Street following the report of a domestic disturbance and possible attempt suicide. The reporting party advised dispatch that she believed her father, David Rodrigue, was an immediate threat to her and her family, acting erratically, armed with a firearm. She also believed he was attempting suicide and had fired the firearm inside the home. Upon arrival, deputies were able to assist the family to safety. In the early morning hours of December 1st, Rodrigue stopped communicating with deputies and refused to answer his phone. A chemical agent was deployed into the home, further attempting to get him to exit. A robot was deployed into the home and located the suspect with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. David Rodrigue was pronounced deceased inside the residence.

Investigators from the Homicide Detail responded to the location to conduct the investigation.
