Wilmington Police arrest 17-year-old male, recover firearm during traffic stop:
Wilmington Police have arrested a 17-year-old male and recovered a firearm after a traffic stop.
On December 1 at approximately 10:28 p.m., patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 4th and Church Streets after observing a moving violation. As one of the passengers in the back seat exited the vehicle, an officer observed a handgun. The 17-year-old male was taken into custody without incident, and police recovered the loaded .32-caliber handgun.
The 17-year-old juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
