Local Post Office Mailbox Thefts
On Sunday December 1, 2019 at 6:39am Officer Kent English responded to the Dayton Post Office (347 Georges Road) for a possible theft in progress. Officers then searched the area for any suspects and located the front Post Office mailbox had been pried open and several letters were still inside. Officer English canvassed the area and a witness advised him that two individuals were observed walking around the Post Office attempting to make entry. They were later seen leaving the area northbound on Georges Road in an older model white car.
At 9:58am Officer Aaron Parks responded to the Monmouth Junction Post Office (651 Ridge Road) for additional damaged mailbox. A check of the Post Office uncovered that the front mailbox was also pried open and empty. Officer Parks canvassed the area and spoke with a witness who observed a white sedan in area at 4:00am.
