The National Weather Service has continued the Winter Storm Warning/Hazardous Weather Outlook for Morris County.
The National Weather Service has continued the Winter Storm Warning/Hazardous Weather Outlook for Morris County and Northern New Jersey. This warning remains active until 1:00AM TUESDAY. At this time, we are currently monitoring the changing storm forecast data.
Based on the latest data available, we are awaiting the start of what we are calling Phase One of the storm. We do not anticipate that today (Sunday) will be very impactful. The current data suggests that we may experience some snow, and sleet with periods of freezing rain throughout today and this evening. It is possible that we may experience approximately 0.50” of sleet and around 0.10” of ice with an overall potential of 0.20”. We expect to have rain for a portion of the day and into tonight with a transition to Phase 2 of snow early tomorrow morning (Monday) with snow ending Tuesday morning.
Looking at some positive news, we are not anticipating that high winds will play a part in this event at this time. We do however feel that travel tomorrow morning could be difficult, with impacts to the morning commute based on the timing of Phase 2 snow.
Thank you!
