Advisory

Roads may be slippery the next few days but snow will be less than an inch

Welcome back to another fun winter. I am happy to say this report does not show any serious weather coming our way yet but travel may get a little slick for the next few days. Leave early (even earlier for those of us on Route 1, lol) leave extra driving distance and clear those windows of any snow and ice.
The Olaf index is very low for this event. Anna will not be asking to make a snow man. In any case, still have the kids on stand bye with the snow shovels (yes, it's legal).
This is the perfect time to test your snow throwers, generators and cut off switch for the Internet to get the kids to help.
I will monitor the report for tonight and send out another report if things become much more problematic. Remember, never leave a vehicle running with the keys in it. Also, if you have a start device, you are allowed to idle for 15 minutes if the temp is below 25 degrees and the vehicle has not been used in the last 3 hours.
Stay safe & warm!
Chief Garofalo

Here is the report from NOAA:
A complex setup with a Great Lakes storm giving way to coastal low pressure development this evening. This will result in a variety of precipitation types, with some significant snow and ice accumulation possible in parts of eastern PA and northern NJ. Confidence is high regarding the storm occurring, however it is only low to medium regarding the details of precipitation type, change-over time, and snowfall and ice amounts.
 A light wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain will develop this morning along and northwest of the I-95 Corridor and it may result in some slippery travel. However, the mix should change to rain between the I-95 and I-78 Corridors during the day.
 The wintry mix will change to snow late tonight and early Monday morning along and north of the I-78 Corridor. Significant snowfall amounts are possible north of I-78, especially in the elevated terrain.
 Rain should change to snow on Monday in southeastern Pennsylvania, central and southern New Jersey, northern Delaware, and extreme northeastern Maryland, possibly resulting in a light accumulation.
