...WINTER WEATHER TO CONTINUE ACROSS PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO WITH ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON... .A cold front has swept into New Mexico, and areas of lingering precipitation will continue through the early evening. Higher terrain areas of western and northern New Mexico will continue to observe periods of moderate to occasionally heavy snow. Snow is expected to taper off this evening and through the overnight, but strong winds will persist into Saturday, especially through mountain passes.

* WHAT...Periods of moderate to occasionally heavy snow and periods of blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 2 to 6 inches with higher amounts above 10,000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Northern Mountains of New Mexico.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM MST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibility in snow. Gusty winds could reduce visibility further due to areas of blowing snow.
