...A strong winter storm will impact the Southern Sierra Nevada starting Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 7000 feet Saturday through Monday. Total snow accumulations of several feet above 7000 feet and a few inches from 5000 to 7000 feet possible Saturday night into Sunday. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph on exposed ridgetops and along the crest.
* WHERE...Southern Sierra Nevada above 7000 feet.
* WHEN...From 4 PM Saturday to 4 PM PST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. If you plan to travel, consider alternate strategies. Wind chill readings of as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SEQUOIA KINGS ... NORTH KINGS RIVER ... CENTRAL SIERRA
