Janesville Resident Shot, Suspect in Custody

On 11/28/2019 at 6:33 A.M. Janesville Police Department Officers were dispatched to the report of a gunshot at 1721 S. Willard Ave. Upon arrival Officers spoke to witnesses and learned a male was shot and was possibly on the way to a local hospital. The suspect was no longer on scene.

The victim was driven to St. Mary’s Hospital in Janesville by an acquaintance. He was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim identified the person who shot him as, Gage L. Holmes, a 26 year old Janesville resident. Gage voluntarily met with officers this morning. He was subsequently interviewed and arrested. We transported Holmes to the Rock County Jail to be held for an initial court appearance.
