Suspects Arrested for Package Thefts in Larkspur

Larkspur, CA – November 27, 2019. Two Novato residents were arrested Monday for possession of stolen property and other narcotics offenses after they were seen removing packages from the doorsteps of several residences in Larkspur.

On the afternoon of November 25, 2019, Central Marin Police Officers were dispatched to Serenity Apartments in Larkspur on the report of subjects stealing packages from several residences. Officers responded to the area and were initially unable to find the suspects. However, an alert citizen was able to capture video of the suspect vehicle and promptly sent it to CMPA Officers. Approximately one hour later, CMPA Officers saw the vehicle in a nearby shopping center and contacted the suspects. Officers subsequently recovered sixteen stolen packages, methamphetamine, and other drug-related paraphernalia. The two suspects, Chivonne Bozarth, age 39, and Steven Hirai, age 40, both Novato residents, were arrested.

Mail thefts increase dramatically during the holiday season, and the Central Marin Police Authority urges residents to have their packages shipped to a secure location. As always, we encourage citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to their local police departments.
