In February 2019, The West County Street Team completed an investigation into the narcotic trafficking activities of Jose Delgado of Oxnard. During the investigation, investigators seized more than 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine, two ounces of cocaine and a large quantity of cash. Delgado was arrested and booked for a variety of narcotic charges. Delgado was able to post $250,000 bail and was released from custody pending trial.
In August of 2019, the West County Street Team received new information that Delgado was continuing his narcotic trafficking activities by selling methamphetamine to Ventura County residents. Detectives opened a new investigation and gathered enough evidence to obtain search warrants for Delgado’s residence, vehicles and person.
On November 20th, 2019, Sheriff's investigators watched Delgado leave his residence and stopped him a short time later. During his detention, detectives found he had over a pound of methamphetamine hidden in his car. Delgado was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of sales. Detectives served a search warrant on Delgado’s residence located in the 600 Block of West 6th Street in Oxnard and collected additional evidence. Delgado was booked into the Ventura County Jail and his bail was set at $70,000. Delgado is scheduled to appear in Court Room 12 on 12/05/2019 at 1:30 PM.
