Grant County K9 Grizzly's retirement became Official Today

Ephrata, WA.  25 NOVEMBER 2019:
K9 Grizzly's retirement became official during a recent meeting with the Grant County Commissioners.  In front of a sizable croud, Deputy Dave De La Rosa and K9 Grizzly were in attendance while the Commissioners signed a Resolution declaring K9 Grizzly as retired, surplus and authorized the sale of Grizzly to his handler Deputy De La Rosa.  K9 Grizzly was the first K9 in service for the Sheriff's Office 4 years ago.  Grizzly was responsible for multiple captures of suspects as well as a life saving locate on a male subject with dimentia .  Grizzly will now enjoy retire life at the residence of Deputy De La Rosa.  Sheriff Tom Jones stated, "Grizzly was a tremendous asset to the Sheriff's Office but glad he gets to enjoy retirement".  Deputy De La Rosa will remain a K9 handler with new Sheriff K9 Hawk who was just recently certified and is now on patrol.
