Vehicle Burglaries Stopped by Observant Residents

On 11/22/19, around 3:50 am, a Fairfield resident contacted the police department and reported seeing people attempting to break into vehicles in the area of Castlewood Court and Brookdale Circle.  The resident assisted the police department by staying on the phone, using their security cameras to watch the suspects, and giving detailed updates to the dispatchers.  Officers were in the area and located the suspects as they attempted to flee in a vehicle.  Three juveniles were located and arrested for possession of burglary tools, vehicle tampering and conspiracy to commit crimes.  The suspects were identified as one 17 year-old and two 16 year-old Vallejo residents.

This case was solved as a result of observant residents that took an active role in helping to protect their community.  The residents saw something suspicious, called the police, stayed on the phone with dispatch and provided detailed updates to assist responding officers with locating the suspects.  This is an example of the community and police department working in tandem to fight crime.

To deter future vehicle burglaries, the police department would like to remind everyone to remove valuables from inside their vehicles (change, tools, electronics, phone chargers, bags, etc.), install car alarms, install motion activated lights around their house, utilize security cameras, and call the police when you see suspicious people in your community.
