INCIDENT: CRIMINAL THREATS
LOCATION: Mojave River Academy, 12384 Palmdale Road #201, Victorville
SUSPECT: Joseph Narvaes, 18 years-old, resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, November 21, 2019, at 11:22 am, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station received a call regarding threats made by a student at Mojave River Academy. Mojave River Academy, which is a charter school under the direction of the Adelanto School District, is located at 12384 Palmdale Road in Victorville. According to the school administration, Joseph Narvaes walked off the campus and made threatening statements.
Deputies immediately responded to the school and Narvaes’s residence in the 11900 block of White Ave., in Adelanto. He was located walking down the street to his residence and was taken into custody without incident within one hour of the initial threats.
Detectives and deputies were given consent to search the residence, no weapons were located.
Narvaes was arrested for Criminal Threats and booked at High Desert Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.
