The Rahway Police Department is investigating an incident that happened at the 7^th & 8^th Grade Academy on November 19^th. We immediately investigated the incident on Nov.19th, and found no credible threat. Unfortunately, information about this incident was inflated and shared repeatedly through text message and social media, and resulted in further calls of concern to the police and schools today.  We want to reassure parents and the public that there is no credible safety threat.
We share in your concern, and want to reassure you that the safety of our children and community is our number one priority. Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased police presence in and around the schools.  Anyone with first-hand information about the incident on November 19^th is urged to contact the Rahway Police Department.   We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we bring this matter to resolution.
