Two days last week the Fairfield Police Department partnered with the Vacaville Police Department to conduct a Human Trafficking Operation. The purpose and effort behind this is to prevent human trafficking and provide services to those trapped in the environment. Human trafficking involves the recruitment, harboring or transporting of people into a situation of exploitation through the use of violence, deception or coercion. In criminal law, this is referred to as Pandering. A victim advocate was present during the operation to offer services to the victims in hopes of helping them escape this horrible situation.
This operation resulted in the arrest of 11 people for prostitution related offenses, while one person was arrested for pandering and firearm offenses.
