LOCATION: I 40 Frwy / Broadway St., Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Van Viet Doan , age 31 a resident of Garden Grove
VICTIM(S): Avis Car Rental
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 8:21 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police initiated a traffic stop on a reported stolen vehicle at the I-40 and East Broadway Street, in the City of Needles. Deputies detained the driver, identified as Van Viet Doan and his female passenger without incident.The female occupant was determined not to be involved and was released at the scene.
During the course of the investigation, Van Viet Doan was detained and subsequently arrested for possession of stolen property. Doan was transported to the Needles Jail and booked for possession of stolen property - vehicle. Doan's bail was set at $50,000.00 and he is currently in custody awaiting his court date.
