Early morning felony assault leads to arrest. (click blue link for details) 
In the morning hours of Friday November 15, 2019, Marion Police Officers were called to respond to the Sportsman Inn (40 US 221 Business N Ext.) in reference to an assault. Jennifer Smith (52, of Marion), reported being assaulted by Joseph Timothy O'Buckley (34, of Marion). Smith was transported to Mission Hosptial in Asheville due to the injuries she sustained during the assault.
O'Buckley was arrested and charged with following Domestic Violence related charges:
Felony Assault Inflicting Serious Injury
Assault on a Female
Second Degree Kidnapping
O'Buckley was placed in the custody of the McDowell County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
