Subject Arrested for Murder Three Days After Shooting

On the afternoon of November 11th, 2019 North Bay Medical Center called Fairfield Police and reported a male subject had arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound. The individual was unable to recover from the injuries and unfortunately died that evening. The victim has been identified as Alberto Rosando Perez, 25, of Fairfield.

Patrol Officers coordinated with the Investigations Bureau and began an investigation into what happened. Through the investigation, a crime scene was located in the 1200 block of Tabor Ave. The Investigations Bureau worked diligently over the next two days and was able to identify the suspect in the murder. Detectives coordinated with members of the District Attorney’s Office and were able to obtain an arrest warrant from a Solano County judge for Marceleno Roy Gonzales (Photo attached), 25, from Fairfield.

Suspects do not hold to jurisdictional boundaries and often times leave the location of where the crime occurred. The Fairfield Police Department worked with neighboring departments in an effort to locate Gonzales. Yesterday afternoon, the Vacaville Police Department located Gonzales in the 1600 block of Alamo Drive in Vacaville. Vacaville PD was able to safely take Gonzales into custody and transferred him to us.

Gonzales was booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of murder, felon/restricted person in possession of a firearm/ammunition, violation of his probation, and a violation of his Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).

We would like to thank members of the public who helped us solve this case and Vacaville PD for apprehending the suspect. If it were not for the public’s information and the great relationship we have with Vacaville PD, this case would not have been closed as safely and quickly as it was.

If anyone has any further information about this incident, please contact Fairfield PD Investigations Bureau at (707) 428-7600.
