The Burbank Police Department is extending its support to the parents, students, families, and everyone affected by the senseless shooting this morning at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita. We understand this tragedy affects everyone, including students and citizens of Burbank who have extended families and friends in the Santa Clarita area.

Although our regular school patrol assignments will continue, we want our community to know we are increasing police presence near Burbank schools in light of this recent event. These additional patrols have nothing to do with any specific threat in our community, but rather, are meant to offer reassurance, comfort, security, and assistance to anyone who may need it.
