INCIDENT SUMMARY:
During the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 13, 2019 personnel from the Redwood City Police Department took part in a large-scale enforcement operation conducted throughout San Mateo County, including areas within both Incorporated and Unincorporated Redwood City.
The operation was part of an extensive investigation involving local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Multiple firearms and narcotics-related arrests were made as a result of this regional endeavor and an unspecified quantity of evidence was seized. Some members of the Redwood City community have questioned if the enforcement action was an Immigration Customs and Enforcement operation. We wish to reassure the community that that this was a large-scale criminal investigation and not an immigration-related enforcement operation.
The United States Attorney’s Office is planning to distribute a press release on Thursday, November 14, 2019, which will provide additional information regarding this investigation.
