Between November 14 to November 28, the City of Kodiak Public Works Dept will be flushing water mains. Flushing activities will encompass the entire water system. This activity is designed to remove the sediment from the water mains which accumulates over time. During these activities water system customers may experience discolored water. All water used in the flushing program and all water in the mains is treated, disinfected water. While the discolored water is aesthetically unpleasant it meets all State and Federal Drinking Water Standards.
