Single Vehicle Fatal Crash
Sheriff Richard J Behnke reports that on 11/08/2019 at 1547 hours, his office was called to a fatal crash that occurred on Bellows Rd near Idlewild St. in Porter Township, Cass County Michigan. Chase Miller, 28 yr old Elkhart resident, was north bound on Bellows Rd. when his vehicle left the roadway and went into a pond. The driver was pulled from the pond and CPR was started, after 30 minutes EMS was unable to revive him. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed he was not wearing his seat belt, and at this time undetermined if intoxicating substances were involved. This case remains under investigation.
