At approximately 4:50 pm today, the Bluffton Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot victim outside of a residence on Bush Lane. Upon their arrival, officers secured the scene of the shooting and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned to render aid the adult male victim—who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim has since been transported to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds by EMS. The subject(s) fled the area prior to the arrival of officers at the scene. The incident is currently under investigation and there is not believed to be a threat to the general public. Residents and motorists can expect an increased police presence in the area of Bush Lane over the next several hours.
