Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the below pictured male suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred yesterday.

Just before 9 a.m., the suspect entered Family Dollar, located at 62 Broadway, filled a red shopping basket with $500.00 worth of merchandise and fled the store, heading southbound on Broadway and then west onto Crane Street with the shopping basket in hand.

The suspect is described as 6-ft. tall and 180 lbs. with a slight beard. He was wearing a black jacket with a hooded sweatshirt underneath, blue jeans and a black skull cap.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, we seek the public’s help in quickly identifying him as part of this investigation.
