Chevron Gas Station Robbery/Homicide Suspect Captured By Sheriff Victor Hill’s Tactical Patrol
Yesterday, Clayton County Police and The Sheriff’s Office responded to a person shot call at the Chevron Gas station located at Mt Zion and Rex Road. Upon arrival Officers Deputies found a male shot several times that was unresponsive. It was discover that the shooting resulted as a result of an attempted robbery which resulted in the robbery suspect shooting the victim who succumbed to his wounds and passed away.
One of the suspects fled on foot and was spotted by a Sheriff’s Deputy who ran him down and took him into custody. The suspect who was identified as Dijon Dion Lamar Tyes was still in possession of a handgun when he was apprehended.
A 2nd suspect who fled the scene by vehicle was later involved in a high speed chase with Union City Police which resulted in his apprehension. That suspect was identified as Amourion Bruce.
Clayton County Homicide Detectives obtained an confession from Tyes admitting to the robbery/homicide and also discovered that he had killed another man in Fulton County several days before this incident.
Both Tyes and Bruce are now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
