Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash
Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Copiague last night.
Nicole Campay was driving a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country eastbound on Oak Street, east of Great Neck Road, when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who stepped into the roadway at approximately 5:20 p.m.
The pedestrian, Wojtek Brajczewski, 61, of Wantagh, was transported via Copiague Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Campay, 40, of Lindenhurst was not injured.
The Chrysler was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
