Wilmington Police have arrested a Newark man on gun charges.

On October 30 at approximately 11:20 a.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 1500 block of West 3^rd Street when they observed 18-year-old Amir Warren of Newark acting suspiciously.  As officers attempted to make contact with Warren, he fled on foot.  He was quickly taken into custody without incident.  He was found to be in possession of a loaded .22 caliber rifle and had numerous outstanding warrants.

Warren was charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
