Louisville man arrested for entering school bus parked on school property.

On November 4, 2019, at 6:54 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a suspicious person asleep on a school bus located at the Haubstadt Community School located at 158 E 1250 South. Upon arriving Special Deputy Randy Ziliak located the suspect and placed him into custody. Sgt. Bruce Vanoven began an investigation into the incident and it was discovered that 23-year-old Jonathon Shearer of Louisville, Kentucky arrived on school property on Saturday November 2nd and entered a school bus parked on the Northwest part of the school property. Mr. Shearer then left the school property on various occasions before being discovered by a school employee on Monday November 4, 2019. At the conclusion of Sgt. Vanoven's investigation Mr. Shearer was transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Shearer was charged with Theft, Criminal Trespassing, and Criminal Mischief. He remains in custody on a $1300 bond.

Assisting Sgt. Vanoven in his investigation was Captain Deborah Borchelt, Deputy Randy Ziliak, and Fort Branch Town Marshal Darrell Parker.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
