LOCATION: Highway 395 near Mojave Drive, Victorville

SUSPECT VEHICLE: Light colored, 2000’s model Chevrolet Tahoe
                  
SUMMARY:
On Friday, November 1, 2019 at 4:52 p.m. a sheriff’s transportation bus occupied by two deputies and 15 inmates was traveling northbound on Highway 395. A light colored, 2000’s model Chevrolet Tahoe with no front license plate drove from the east shoulder of Highway 395, traveling southbound in the northbound lane, toward the bus. The deputy driving slowed the bus, honked the horn, stopped the bus and honked again but the Tahoe continued toward the bus. Evidence suggests the driver of the Tahoe intentionally accelerated toward the bus. As the Tahoe continued in a head on path with the bus, the passenger deputy was involved in an officer involved shooting. The driver of the Tahoe fled, driving southbound on Highway 395. An area check was conducted but the Tahoe was not located. It is unknown if the driver of the Tahoe was injured or if the Tahoe sustained any damage. It is unclear if there were any passengers in the Tahoe. The deputies, nor the inmates suffered any injuries.
