Advisory

The SMPD will once again be participating in No Shave November!

For the second year in a row, your Santa Maria Police Department will be participating in a "No-Shave November" fundraiser to bring awareness to prostate cancer and raise money in the process.
Officers who choose to participate will personally donate $50 to the "No Shave November" fundraiser and in turn, will be allowed to grow out their facial hair. The SMPD Police Officers Association will match every dollar donated and the Santa Maria Police Association of Middle Management will also donate $500.

Last year, the SMPD was able to raise $7,100, which was entirely donated to the Mission Hope Cancer Center in Santa Maria. Once again, all proceeds will be donated to the Mission Hope Cancer Center.

At the end of November, participating members will be judged for, “Best Overall Facial Hair”. The winner will be recognized by name and will win bragging rights and a $50 gift card.

In the 2018 campaign, 67 officers proudly patrolled with facial hair and received tremendous community support. Thank you Santa Maria!
