The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area, effective until 1:00 am, Friday.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 691 IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EDT FRIDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS

IN NEW JERSEY THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY

BERGEN ESSEX HUDSON PASSAIC UNION

IN NEW YORK THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK

ORANGE PUTNAM ROCKLAND WESTCHESTER

THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BAYONNE, BERGENFIELD, CARMEL, CLIFTON, EAST ORANGE, ELIZABETH, ENGLEWOOD, FAIR LAWN, GARFIELD, HACKENSACK, JERSEY CITY, KIRYAS JOEL, LAKE CARMEL, LINDEN, MAHOPAC, MIDDLETOWN, MONSEY, MOUNT VERNON, NANUET, NEW CITY, NEW ROCHELLE, NEW WINDSOR, NEWARK, NEWBURGH, PARAMUS, PASSAIC, PATERSON, PEARL RIVER, PLAINFIELD, PORT JERVIS, PUTNAM LAKE, PUTNAM VALLEY, SCOTCHTOWN, SPRING VALLEY, STONY POINT, SUFFERN, TEANECK, UNION, UNION CITY, WAYNE, WEST POINT, WHITE PLAINS, AND YONKERS.

To avoid property damage, please secure any loose items such as Halloween decorations and trash cans.
