Advisory

Strong winds tonight between 11:00 PM and 2:00 AM prepare for possible power outages, charge cell phones.

The Office of Emergency Management wants to advise you that a strong cold front will push in tonight bringing a gusty line of storms along with it between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. The squall will move through quickly, but intense wind gusts of 50 - 60 mph are possible in the strongest parts of the line. These winds, coupled with saturated grounds from previous rain, bring the the risk of downed trees and powerlines.

Prepare now for possible power outages. Locate flashlights and extra batteries, also charge your cell phones and other electronic devices now. Stay away from downed wires, downed wires should always be considered live. Do not approach or drive over downed wires. To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning do not run any gasoline powered generators in a garage or other enclosed space. Do not use candles since they can be a fird hazard. 

Contact PSE&G at 800-436-PSEG (7734) to report power outages. Wind gusts are expected to be strong throughout most of the day tomorrow also.
