Deputies respond to a victim not breathing, conduct live-saving techniques, the victim regained consciousness

LOCATION: 14700 block of Orange Street, Hesperia
VICTIM: 64 year-old male a resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On October 30th, at approximately 5:22 pm, deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff's Station and San Bernardino County Fire Paramedics were dispatched to the 14700 block of Orange Street, in Hesperia, following the report of a male who was not breathing. Deputies Anthony Alfaro and Cory Drost arrived on scene within minutes and found the male on the ground, in the street. Alfaro and Drost determined the male was not breathing and did not have a pulse. Alfaro and Drost initiated CPR for approximately six minutes, until paramedics arrived. Paramedics took over CPR and within a couple minutes the male regained a strong heart rate and began breathing on his own. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital for further treatment. Within a couple hours of the initial call, he was conscious, alert and speaking with hospital staff. He is expected to make a full recovery.
