On October 30, 2019, at 5:59 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a disturbance in the 200 block of North Third Street in Owensville, Indiana. Upon arriving Deputy U.B. Smith began an investigation into the incident by separating the parties. During the investigation arrangements were made for a female 30-year-old Amber Owen of Owensville to get a ride from a friend and stay at another residence for the night. However as she started back into the residence Ms. Owen began to strike the other party of the disturbance in the officers presence. At that point Ms. Owen was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Ms. Owen was charged with Battery. She remains in custody on a $550 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Owensville Town Marshal Rodger Leister and Gibson County Deputy Garrett Tuley.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
