UPDATE: Second suspect arrested:
On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 8:44 p.m., deputies from the Wasco Substation located and arrested 27-year-old Antonio Diaz in the area of Interstate 5 and 7Th Standard.
Diaz was determined to be involved with an assault that occurred on October 20, 2019 on the 1600 block of 4th Street. Diaz was booked into the Kern County Jail for attempted murder, burglary, child endangerment, false imprisonment, conspiracy. Mariano Diaz was arrested on October 23, 2019.

On October 20, 2019, at about 10:35 p.m., deputies from the Wasco Substation responded to a victim of a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies located a 45-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds to her upper body. The female victim was transported to Kern Medical by helicopter with major injuries. During the investigation, Deputies determined 22-year-old Mariano Diaz and two additional suspects were involved with the assault.
On October 23, 2019, at 9:30 p.m., deputies located and arrested Diaz in the city of Bakersfield. Diaz was booked at into the Kern County Jail for attempted murder, mayhem, child endangerment, false imprisonment, and conspiracy.
